The Lion and The Black Sheep © 1994
This is a story of a girl who never had a chance
This is a story for you and me
Take this trip with me down this open highway
And see how things can really be
Well this whole damn story got started
When he saw her drinking wine
He said "Hey girl are you old enough?"
She said "Im in my prime"
Then she laughed in his face and she turned away
But he wouldnt leave where he was standing
She wouldnt speak thinking he would go away
But his presence was too demanding
And the Lion he smiled at the Black Sheep (4X)
The next day they were no longer strangers
They talked just like old friends
She said "Oh man youre the greatest!"
He said "That all depends now
"
And they talked through the night til the early dawn
Because she could not sleep
They said their prayers yawnin
"Each others soul well keep"
And the Lion fell in love with the Black Sheep (4X)
Now things were getting really serious
Each one had pledged their love
This was not a time of trouble yall
This was a time of true love
And she said "Oh babe I think Im ready for you"
"I think I can give in"
He said "Oh girl Ill be good to you"
And so their fate began
And the Lion laid down with the Black Sheep (4X)
Then came years of happiness
The seemed to never, ever fight
They took good care of one another
And they only fought her fear of the night
And she said "Hey what are we doing now"
"There seems no end to this"
"This thing is bigger than both of us"
"This thing we cannot miss"
So the Lion he married that Black Sheep (4X)
Within a year they had a baby
They named that little girl Sue
But then their lives were different
And for the first time they didnt know what to do
And the Lion would growl at the Black Sheep
And she would cower in fear
But then would growl back too though
And scream Im getting out of here
But the Lion he beat that Black Sheep blue
Well how this story finishes
Is not for the fainthearted
Ten long, long years had passed
And the Lion and the Black Sheep parted
And the skies cried out his fury
And the skies cried out her pain
Cause all this love was wasted
Yes, it was all in vain
The Lion smiled at the Black Sheep
Then the Lion fell in love with the Black Sheep
So the Lion laid down with the Black Sheep
And the Lion he married that Black Sheep
But the Lion he beat that Black Sheep blue
